Ontario Master's/Junior's Championship

Well the contest was a success for for the members of my club as well as myself. It was a long day but we all pulled through and made some great lifts.
My lifts passed my expectation, as I did a 350 Squat, a 2o3.5 Bench, and a 418 Deadlift.
We all qualified to go to the Canadian Nationals. As of now, my best lifts are:
Squat - 355lbs
Bench - 225lbs
Deadlift - 440lbs
The Nationals will be from April 9-13, 2008.

Belated Powerlifting Update

Well, it has been some time since i have made an update on my lifting career, or anything for that matter. Summer was all too short and busy. The good news is i have qualified for the Ontario Junior/Master (provincials) in december. To this date, my personal best squat has been bumped up to 335 (which is in the video), and my deadlift is at 365. Bench PB is still 195. I'm hoping for the Ontarios to get atleast a 350 squat ( it will most likely be higher after 4 more months of training), a 400 deadlift, and a 200 bench. they should all be easy goals. at my last contest i pulled 365, and that was raw, so this time i might try to get to 400 with a suit.

Niagara Open, 2007

Ahh, the Niagara Open, my first real competition. The only thing I had before this was the bench press contest. Niagara was awesome! I went down the night before, went out to eat, then got "some" rest, only to wake up at 6:30 for weigh ins. Lifting started at nine. Thankfully, I had two awesome coaches, Jane and Steve from my club, The Golden Triangle along to help me out. And of course, the support of sambo and Big B in the audience!

I ended up with a squat of 253lbs, deadlift of 260lbs (man that was easy), and a bench of 160lbs (also could have put a bit more on, lol). Really I only got to my max at the squat, I actually stopped during the lift, but still managed to all 27 white lights!

i took it generally easy this time around, it being my first meet, I went in raw. We'll have to see how I do in the highschool provincials, when i make it, (Im being optimistic) and the Guelph open in July,.. until then, I'm going to keep on training!
